MATCH.COM is HORRIBLE

I signed my aunt up for three months, and they auto renewed me twice for a total of $160.00. When I called to dispute the charges and see if I could get a refund, they said not because the acct was used. I knew my aunt didn'tuse it because she is not computer savi and I would help her email people and it was ONLY my computer that was used. When I asked for emails showing that she had used it, the supervisor by the name of Cameron said "you'll need a subpoena to access those emails because the automaticly delete after 30 days". I asked him "you'll take my money and she can't access her acct that you guys auto renewed'' ? He responded "no, I did not say that, I said you or your aunt will need a subpoena to access the emails". So I repeated my self, "you guys are charging for a service she cannot access?" Long story short, they did not help me, thay took my money, and the dating website is a scam, with people sending dirty pic. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MATCH.COM!!!!!!

Auto renewal problem

On Aug.9/12 I signed on with match.com for a special 6 mo. rate of $91.74(Can).With the exception of 1 man, I met nothing but scammers (all reported). On Feb.9/13 they put thru an auto-renewal for $123.36(Can). I realized this on Mar.16/13. I had cancelled by e-mail Mar.11/13. I contacted them for partial re-imbursement (3 customer service agents). None would refund anything. According to #12 of their Terms of Use Agreement, they CAN refund, if they want, AND, they should have renewed at the original rate, not an increase. They did this without notification. They have my e-mail: sandra-mcl@***.com

Continued charging me after cancellation

I signed up for 1 month of service (35.99) with Match.com and prior to the month ending and incurring a renewal subscription, I canceled the service as I had met somebody. Two months later, by chance, I noticed that I was still being charged for their service. They now plead ignorance and will only refund me half of the unapproved charges they assessed me (35.99 of 71.98). The customer service representative as well as the supervisor that I reached via phone was not willing to refund all of the charges because they were unable to identify a cancellation in their system (conveniently). I know for a fact that I cancelled it and he was even unwilling to check records and verify that I hadn't even logged in since I cancelled their service. I refuse to ever use their service again and recommend others do the same unless they're willing to incur potential unauthorized charges.

I was hacked

On January 1 my daughter suggested that I start the new year with dating again. We signed me up to Match and in 8 short days my personal email was hacked and today I received 2 disgusting calls from an "unknown" caller. I called Match and all they could do is hide my profile for 3-months as they claimed that I used their service...really...for 8 days? I don't care about the refund...I do care that this "service" did not stand up for my privacy and protection. Can we put a price on that? Ladies...please be aware...crazy perverts are on this site!!!!

MATCH.COM IS A HOAX

I joined Match.com 1-12-12; I had been on Match."scam" before, buying only a month at a time. When I joined this time,I had to sign up for 3 months..!That's the minimum they'll let you sign for. I did all the things they recommended..i.e..post pics, fill out the entire profile(very specific) and filled out the "Date Spark" info. To this date..I have sent out over 30 emails, and 65 winks. I have got 5 "No Thanks" in the winks category back, and not 1, email...!I cancelled my subscription the day I got it....so I'd be cancelled in "plenty of time". Funny,,,isn't it,..how I haven't received ANY reply's..?? I did get 7 scammers trying to get me to send money to Ghana. MATCH.COM TOTALLY SUCKS....BEWARE..!

Let's take action re Match.com!

I thought my membership with Match.com had expired. But I found that they had automatically renewed my subsciption without asking further permission. (I.e I must have already given 'permission' somewhere in the depths, cellars, dungeons of printed bumph already). This must mean that they store our financial details. This is potentially dangerous for us. May I suggest that, if we're still caught on Match.com, we contact as many other members as possible to tell them of this? I've started to do this; it's fun and, who knows, I might meet somebody! Apparently Match. com is one of the largest dating sites, and no wonder, as so many of us are imprisoned!

Match.Com are a bunch of liars!!

These people do not keep their word at all!! I don't even knnow where to begin I've had so many problems with match.com! I was told that this was a spam free site when clearly it is not! The spam isn't as obvious as most. I've actually wasted time retorting to some of these girls....I mean scam artists. hmmmmm.... What else?? No matter what I try to put up on my profile, they WILL NOT approve it. I was told as long as I dont cus or offend anyone I can put whatever I want. Lies!!! And if if they do approve something, "like an error fix" it takes days. I made a mistake by paying them a crazy amount of money for 6 months. I've been there not even a week, and demanded atleast SOME of my money back, but they refused due to acctivity on my account. ....So I guess that means that the entire 6 months just simply belongs to them for that simple fact alone, regardless of just how unhappy I am, only one week in. I've even had a customer support representative laugh at me because of all my frustration. When I asked to speak to a manager...HE HUNG UP ON ME!! Please, Do not make the same mistake I did. These people seem legit because of their commercials and the name, but they know once they got your money ur basically F*&ck$d. JUST SAY NO TO MATCH.COM!!! You will thank yourself!

Match.com dating service

Having recently found myself single again, I decided to give internet dating a chance. Signed up for Match.com but within 2 days I was frustrated with the fact that SO many men were overly insistent in trying to obtain my yahoo i.d. (or personal email). This sparked suspician -- and, it turns out (upon research), rightfully so. Apparently there is a big scam with people in other countries who must use stolen credit cards to sign up for Match.com and then seek out unsuspecting women to ***. Luckily I did not fall for their scams, however, match has ttheir own scams! When I tried to cancel my membership before the 3 day limit, Match offered a promo "We will give you 3 months for the price of one!" -- coming to a much less $40 something dollars. Okay, I suppose (at this point I was still unclear as to what these "guys" wanted with my personal email, but I figured for $40 something, I'd give it a try. 2 weeks later, after having been continuously bombarded with emails from unbelievably good-looking men (that gave away their true identity only by using poor English), I contacted Match with my concerns and asked for a full refund. (Not for a lack of meeting Mr. Right, or anyone at all, but because I am concerned for my security and don't believe remaining on match is a good idea at all. Match patched me through to 3 different customer service representatives who were all repeating the same "No Refund" policy to me over and over again. I got no retribution, and was advised that that "OFFER" i received, by the way, was for an ADDITIONAL THREE MONTHS; hence they charged me $80 something PLUS $40 SOMETHING! i have yet to see that corrected and will not give up until I get refunded all of my money -- after all, what kind of customer service is that??? At the very least, they should work with me and they are NOT EVEN ATTEMPTING SAME.

Match.com is a mean spirited joke

My neighbor, an introverted soul by nature who works an exhaustive schedule, recently took, what was for him, the significant step of signing up for Match.com. His excitement soon turned to frustration when after paying for the service he was unable to log-on to the website. After several days this snafu was ironed out and in the process my friend was issued a new password in order to access the website. The new password issued by Match.com was a personally insulting and demeaning phrase. The excitement my neighbor initially felt was stamped out and replaced with humiliation. A step that had probably taken years to make, crushed by a mean spirited, soulless corporate bully. Imagine how you would feel if forced to type in an insulting moniker to use the site you had subscribed to in hopes of making a connection with another. So, nice going Match.com, instead of helping someone pursue their future, you crushed their spirit. Given this type of business practice it is hard to imagine that you really provide any type of legitimate service. I hope others, especially those with tender sensibilities, have not also suffered indignity at your hand. Your callous disregard for the feelings of your customers is so contrary to what you hold yourself out to be, it is nothing short of fraudulent.

They charged me 160 when it was only supposed to be 119. Apparently this was in US dollars which they had not indicated anywhere...and seeing as how I'm from Canada, how does that make sense?

I called and they put me through to a resolution specialist who couldn't answer anything and quite frankly sounded like he doesn't know what his job is or how to formulate a sentence.

He then hung up on me because his resolution skills were no where to be found.

What a joke. I'll be sure to not recommended this piece of *** site to anyone.

MATCH.COM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MATCH.COM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used the Match.com service over a year ago – I cancelled the service but one year later I go on-line and see they put through a charge to my debit card for $136.80! I immediately went to my bank (TD BANK, Plainview, NY Branch) and filed a dispute to have it reversed – 3 weeks later I still see the charge so I go to my bank and what they tell me is this – Because I didn't cancel the debit card after using their service – they have all the card info on file for me and they are claiming that I never cancelled the membership and so many months later they hit me with this UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE OF $136.80!!!! I am disputing the so-called verification that Match.com provided my bank (TD BANK, Plainview, NY Branch) based on the fact that it's ludicrous. I explained to TD BANK, Plainview, NY Branch) that I did cancel the service – but they have to have someone in their Debit Card dispute dept. look into the matter further. Match.com is a company that WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD without your permission. If you use their service (which I do not recommend) you should protect yourself and get a prepaid debit card – never ever ever ever ever should anyone give them their credit card or bank card information. They are unscrupulous. My bank suggested that I contact Match.com (the company that charged my card illegally) and ask them to reverse the charge. Has anyone tried to get in touch with match.com? Go ahead – try and have their Customer Service help you and see where it gets you. Nowadays, unfortunately, companies are greedy, despicable and completely hostile towards customers when it comes to our needing help to resolve problems that THEY CREATED. DO NOT USE MATCH.COM – THE SERVICE SUCKS- THEY CHARGE PEOPLES CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION – GO AHEAD CHECK ON-LINE – SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM FOR YOURSELF. STAY AWAY FROM MATCH.COM – DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE – DO NOT GIVE MATCH.COM YOUR CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD INFORMATION. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MATCH.COM. Signed, cheated and robbed customer of Match.com

I just cancelled a one year membership to match.com after two weeks. From day one, I would receive annoying popup instant messages from bots, the same one, even after blocking!

I reported it and it did not stop for a week. I received multiple messages from fake profiles too. These are people paid to keep people online and for the site to earn more profit! I even gave my number to one and she texted me what was an obvious mass text to a bunch of guys, as it made no sense to my question, in text.

These profiles also show up later as unavailable. Do not use this site! They have fake profiles all over them! If you must, use Plenty Of Fish, even though that is a horrible site.

Meet someone in real life is the best bet or you will be exposed to a never ending pit fall of entitled females with insane expectations that they do not come close to, with kids, divorced, obese, and damaged! I also will be cancelling my debut card tomorrow and getting a new one asap!

#668683

i just called in for their heavily advertised 'if you don't find love after 6 months' offer, only to learn that there is a catch to it, you have to sign up for the 6 month plan (i did 3 months twice, paying them more money that way) . .

.

so they won't honor it.

i wouldn't do business with them again, and had much better luck on ok cupid. i told them they were making a poor business decision considering their biggest competitor is free and a better company.

#651021

Match dot com is sham. They filter filter.

Text photos email -- you name it. It is just like censored prison mail except you pay for it. Their guarantee is phoney. You don't get your money back -- you get more time on the site and that is useless.

New subs get torrents of IMs from non-users - someone has hacked their system and Match is clueless about it.

Plus the clients -- A lot of w vain airheads who think some fantasy date is out there for them. It is a huge waste of time and money.

#563999

I completely regret subscribing to this website. I've been on it nearly 2 weeks, and I have not received one message from anyone.

Mind you, I have messaged many people. No response. I'm assuming 90+ percent of the members aren't even freaking subscribed, which is ***.

I actually thought this website was legit, but of course, it's just about the money. Thank you for sharing this.I'm about to cancel my account right now.

#517803

Just got of the phone with match.com and they won't refund me my account for their automatic renewal. Have contacted my bank to dispute the charge. Hopefully, I'll get my money back but from what you said I don't have much of chance.

#494363

They send you people as matches that are not even on the site anymore - and they send you people who only want to date a different faith, race than what you are. how are these people a match for me?

The people that are on match are game players, scammers, married and just want to have fun. Avoid Match, Plentyoffish and the rest like the plaque - they all suck.

Match.com CC hijacking and Match.com profile hijacked

After a 6 month hiatus, I renewed my account for match.com. Within 36 hours, I got a call from my credit card company telling me there was suspicious activity starting the day I renewed my account with match. My CC # was hijacked and someone on the other side of the country was buying groceries and fried chicken. My CC company took care of the charges and I wasn't going to worry about it. (My credit union is fantastic!) But then - this morning I wake up and there's an email message from Match asking me if I changed the critical access info on my account. No...I hadn't. So...my match.com account and online profile was hijacked. I don't think this is a coincidence. Eventually I was able to get someone on the phone. They're tech-dept had to shut down my profile. They refunded the FULL amount last charged to my (stolen) credit card, with their instruction/recommendation that I should re-sign up again and create a NEW profile with a new name. None of the data would be transferred to my new account. They "generously" offered 7 free days (that's the best they would do). Sign up again? Not likely. Thanks Match.com for compromising my security and putting me at risk both, financially and personally.
